Notion to Anki converter
Copy your toggles, lists or a table from Notion and paste them here. Each toggle becomes a card, with its title on the front and everything inside it on the back. Check the preview, then download a file for Anki, copy the cards to Quizlet or study them in Aripsy. Nothing you paste is uploaded.

How to copy cards from Notion
Copying from Notion keeps your toggles and lists in order, so the converter can tell the front of each card from the back.
- 01
Open the page in Notion, in the app or on the website.
- 02
Select the toggles or list you want. To take the whole page, press Ctrl+A twice (Cmd+A on a Mac).
- 03
Copy with Ctrl+C (Cmd+C).
- 04
Paste into the converter above, check the preview, then download the Anki file or open the cards in Aripsy.
You don't need to open the toggles first: copying a closed toggle copies what's inside it too.
How to convert a Notion database
A database copied as part of a page comes through as its title only, so export it instead. These steps follow Notion's help centre.
- 01
Open the database as a full page.
- 02
Click ••• at the top right, then Export.
- 03
Choose Markdown & CSV and click Export. Notion downloads a .zip file.
- 04
Unzip it and upload the .csv file here, then choose which columns go on the front and back.
How to import the file into Anki
Import with Anki on your computer. Your phone gets the cards when you sync.
- 01
Download the Anki file from the converter. It's a plain .txt file.
- 02
Open Anki on your computer, click the File menu, then Import, and choose the file.
- 03
Check the import window. The file already sets the separator to Tab and turns on HTML; pick a note type such as Basic and the deck you want.
- 04
Click Import. To study on your phone, sync with AnkiWeb afterwards.
The file's header lines are read by Anki 2.1.54 and later. Sources: Anki Manual: Importing · Anki Manual: Text files
How to move Notion cards to Quizlet
Quizlet imports pasted text on its website, not in its app.
- 01
Select Copy for Quizlet in the converter.
- 02
On the Quizlet website, create a flashcard set and select Import.
- 03
Paste the text. Keep Tab between term and definition and New line between cards.
- 04
Check the preview in Quizlet and import.
Which Notion blocks become cards
Auto mode reads the page every way and keeps the reading with the most cards. Pick Toggles, Lines or Table if the preview looks wrong.
- A toggle with something inside
- A card: the toggle's title on the front, what's inside on the back (one line per paragraph)
- A list item with sub-items under it
- A card: the item on the front, the sub-items on the back
- A toggle heading
- A card, like a toggle
- Toggles inside a topic toggle
- One card per inner toggle; the topic itself is skipped
- Lines such as Term :: definition, Term — definition or Term: definition
- One card per line
- A Q: line followed by an A: line
- One card
- A table, or a database exported as CSV
- One card per row, from the two columns you choose; a header row is skipped
- Headings, callouts, images and empty toggles
- Skipped
Tips
- 01Write each toggle's title as a question, and keep one idea per card. Short answers are easier to recall.
- 02To turn an existing list into toggles, select it in Notion, open the block menu and choose Turn into, then Toggle list.
- 03Group question toggles inside a topic toggle. The topic is skipped and each question inside becomes a card.
- 04Notion doesn't schedule reviews, so study the cards with spaced repetition in Anki or Aripsy.
- 05Importing the same file into Anki twice won't double your deck: Anki spots notes with the same first field and, by default, updates them.
Frequently asked questions
How do I turn Notion toggles into Anki flashcards?
Select the toggles in Notion and copy them, paste them into the converter, and check the preview. Then download the Anki file and import it with File > Import in Anki on your computer. Each toggle becomes one card.
Do I need to connect my Notion account?
No. You copy and paste, or upload a file you exported, so the converter never sees your Notion workspace. Aripsy isn't affiliated with Notion, Anki or Quizlet.
Can I convert a Notion database?
Yes. Export it from Notion as Markdown & CSV, unzip the download, upload the .csv file and choose which columns go on the front and back. A database copied as part of a page only comes through as its title.
Can I move my Notion notes to Quizlet?
Yes. Select Copy for Quizlet, then on the Quizlet website create a flashcard set, select Import and paste. Keep Tab between term and definition and New line between cards.
Why were some toggles skipped?
A toggle with nothing inside it has no back, so it's skipped, and so are exact duplicates and very long cards. They're listed under Skipped so you can fix them in Notion and copy again.
Are images and equations included?
Images aren't: the converter works with the text Notion copies. Equations come through as their text, which you can tidy in Anki after importing.
Do I need 2anki?
No. 2anki is a separate service that connects to your Notion workspace and builds Anki decks. This converter needs no account or access to your Notion: paste or upload, then download a text file that Anki imports.
Is anything uploaded, and how much can I convert?
Nothing is uploaded: the conversion runs in your browser and the file is created on your device. The text is kept only in this browser so it's still there after a reload; Clear removes it. You can convert up to 5,000 cards or 2 MB at a time, and Aripsy opens up to 100 cards per set.
